Wells Fargo Securities Operations Summer Internship Program

Start your path toward becoming a leader within Wells Fargo Securities (WFS) Operations by gaining broad exposure to the different areas of the capital markets operations teams that are critical to the platform’s success. The program begins with a week of in-person training that will give you a chance to learn more about the business, meet senior leaders, and network with your peers before you join one of the following operations areas:

  • Collateral Management
  • Exception Resolution
  • Equity Operations
  • Derivative Settlements
  • Commodities, Credit, Rates, and Middle Office
  • WFS Settlement Operations
  • WFS Operations Solutions
  • Project Management
  • Futures and Derivatives Clearing
  • Prime Services
  • Operations Control Group


You'll join a team of operations experts and will:

  • Assisting in the daily responsibilities of the Collateral Management team
  • Participation in testing of system enhancements
  • Assisting with day-to-day responsibilities related to trade processing, P&L production and analysis as well as projects
  • Assisting with preparation of daily futures & options clearing broker reconciliations, perform affirmation of client trade activity and resolve client inquiries & reconciliation exceptions
  • Assisting with settlement functions which include payment affirmation, settlement and exception resolution
  • Running reconciliations, management reporting and liaison with other teams to research issues
  • Assisting in creating workflows and flowcharts for defining business processes
  • Assisting with PowerPoint presentations, Visio diagrams, providing testing and support for multiple downstream groups and creating test cases in Excel
  • Research on data transactions

After successfully completing the summer program, you will be eligible to participate in the full-time WFS Operations Leadership Program when you graduate.

Opportunities are available in Charlotte, NC; New York, NY; Minneapolis, MN


  • Enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's program within any major with a graduation date between December 2018, and spring 2019
  • Interns must demonstrate a combination of academic aptitude, quantitative skills, personal motivation, distinguished written and verbal communication and presentation skills, excellence in working effectively as an individual and as part of a team, and an ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
  • Coursework in financial accounting, corporate finance, mathematics or engineering
  • Energetic self-starter who is flexible, organized, conscientious, proactive, and detail-oriented
  • An individual who demonstrates a sense of personal accountability and urgency for achieving results
